Painting the walls and trim the same color made this room feel a lot taller. We added panel molding for more architectural detailing and picked a demure paint color. That’s a win in my book!

So much of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina communities have been damaged or decimated by Hurricane Helene. Unprecedented flooding like we have never seen before. I’m partial to the area as it’s where I am from and where my family still lives. My home county of Washington in East Tennessee has a long list of basic necessities they’re in need of for people who have lost everything.
I’m donating (2) 30 minute design consults in the hopes that we can help a few families. To enter, purchase one or more items from the Amazon wish list in my bio and DM me a picture of your receipt. All items will ship directly to Crossroads Christian Church. Winners announced October 4th.
Thank you friends π«ΆπΌ

Love getting job site updates while I’m home snuggling Baby Jack. Installing this multi-purpose dining room on the water soon! Paneling makes it feel much more intentional. Here’s a little glimpse at what went into it…

Do you have a sentimental inherited piece of furniture, art or accessory you need to keep but want it out of site? Here are three tips to help!
1 - If you inherited a bedroom set, please separate it into different rooms or only keep the most important piece.
2 - How can you elevate a mud room, kids room or basement with additional storage or extra art? I’ve also placed pieces in lesser used guest bedrooms. Having some additional storage might be handy and you will be able to keep your piece away from the more public areas or the house.
3 - Don’t put the furniture or art in a direct site line. A great place is a hallway where you or your guests won’t be starting directly.
I hope these tips help!! Xx

We are thankful for this gift from the Lord and all the family and friends who have supported and loved us so well. π

Missed posting for 4th of July…so here’s a favorite look back at a special room for a sweet little boy.

We designed this Bahamas kitchen for a family with four kids who has been vacationing here for decades. Always special to create beautiful spaces for families to enjoy together.
The project took a couple years longer than expected due to hurricane damage. Some things are worth the wait!

Sharing what I used to whitewash my fireplace. This product can be painted on stone or brick…inside and out. If you’re painting brick outside use a hose to wash off some of the product instead of a rag. I love this look so much more than using a standard white paint because it is truly a wash rather than a flat color. Linked what I used on my LTK and please ask me any questions!! Big thanks to @floydpaintandpaper for coaching me through.

Joy, joy. Family pictures to capture us a few weeks before baby brother gets here. I just love them!
Thank you @leahsmith_photography .

Curious on what it’s like to shop at the the Serena & Lily outlet in Bluffton, SC? Here are a few of my tips.
βοΈ Call ahead to verify which days they receive deliveries. You want to go when they are fully stocked!
βοΈ Go over a holiday weekend when you can stack discounts. I was able to get an additional 30% off!
βοΈ Check all furniture (especially raffia pieces) prior to purchasing as some had a good amount of damage.
βοΈ If you’re looking for a specific wallpaper, make sure to use their wallpaper estimator to calculate how much you will need prior to your visit.
βοΈ And lastly, a friendly reminder to only buy what you need! You don’t want to have to store something you won’t be able to use.
Hope this helps!! Have you been to a Serena & Lily Outlet?

Toddler versus fabric…I’m living in the uncharted territory that now none of my upholstery or fabrics are safe from chocolatey, sticky hands. @woolite_us Instaclean has made me feel more confident on getting stains out.
I’ve used it on getting chocolate out of my bed pillow and also on my wool rugs. Anything that helps me keep our house clean in the midst of raising little people is a huge win for me.
Comment link below and I will send you the information to your DM’s. Also added to my Amazon storefront (see bio!) or you can pick up at your local Publix.
Have you had a child stain upholstery or fabrics?

Ever wonder how designers create custom colored rugs? We use these handy samples of wool called POMS…aptly named for their resemblance to Pom-poms.
After sending our selections to the savory, a strike off (sample) for approval is sent to us. If approved the rug goes into production and we await the final delivery.

Recently added these custom bookshelves on either side of a fireplace at a home in Texas. Swipe for the before ππΌ. We added much needed storage and created a built-in element this wall really needed! Excited to pull the rest of the room elements and layers together!

Happy Friday! Putting together these beautiful boards I can’t wait to share soon.

As I held my sweet daughter’s hand last night while she fell asleep, the phrase “little by little, one travels far” came to mind. This year will be filled with tiny little moments at home and at work I can’t wait to soak up. Maybe instead of lofty accomplishments, moving forward is simply putting one foot in front of the other in a forward direction. Eventually all those little steps add up to great things, no matter the pace we are plodding.
Happy belated New Years. I’m excited for what’s to come! π€

Lots of packages piled up my desk this Monday morning! Here’s a look at what I got…including a favorite package from @halseyandspruce with beautiful @claremontfurnishing fabrics.

Currently under construction in Texas. π¨ The client needed additional storage in her Master Bedroom so we added a deep cabinet with a hidden TV flanked by bookcases on either side. Doors will receive a beautiful shirred fabric to soften them.
